Over the past years, I have highlighted the stories of some of the church workers in the Florida-Georgia District. These stories illustrate the different ways that God calls workers into His church. David Weidner, Director of Congregational Services for the Florida-Georgia District, has been recognized as the Master Director of Christian Education for 2007 by the Lutheran Education Association.      Using “broadsides,” a special type of Gospel tract involving humor and a “non-professional” look, 14 members of Prince of Peace-Orlando, FL, on July 29 teamed up with 14 participants from the National Youth Gathering to share Christ.The group of 28 was trained in street witnessing for about an hour before they “hit the streets” by Rev. Bruce Lieske, member of Prince of Peace. . . .

Duluth, Minnesota ... Your reporter recently returned from the land of 10,000 lakes, including the biggest one, Lake Superior, where the Int’l. LLL celebrated its 90th Annual convention. The theme for 2007-08 is “Let Your Light Shine” (Matthew 5:16) and was certainly most appropriate as the Great Lakes have the most lighthouses in the nation. Approximately 1,000 delegates were registered to hear the messages and programs of LHM. . . .
